2016 – September 8 – 2017 is the Jubilee year of the 300th anniversary of the Coronation of the Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Czestochowa with Papal crowns. This celebration took place in 

1717 in Czestochowa, Poland. The crowns were sent by Pope Clemens XI. It was for the first time in the history that such an event took place outside of Rome. Today we wish to honor Mary, not with golden crowns, but with our life in accord with the Gospel. St. Irenaeus said that „The glory of God is man fully alive”. In order for this to happen, we need a continuous repentance. That is why we would like to offer our spiritual gifts to the Blessed Mother – because they show whether Mary truly reigns in our life.

            In union with this Jubilee year of the coronation of Our Lady at Jasna Gora, Poland, we, as the devotees of the Blessed Mother, living in the United States, would also like to honor Mary during this time. After all, She is present with all of us, in every place, on every continent, and in every country. We experience this intimacy with our Mother especially here, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, in Doylestown, PA – known as the American Czestochowa – where She has been reigning for over 60 years. On this occasion we would like to honor the Mother of God by offering all our intentions, resolutions and spiritual gifts, as well as our faces – because they form a true and a living crown for our Mother, and it is that with them we can decorate Her sacred image. Therefore the Pauline monks of the American Czestochowa invite all of you to join in our efforts of creating a „Living Crown of Mary”.
