The Most Reverend William Murphy, Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, is calling on all faithful in the Diocese to participate in a new initiative to help nurture the “Culture of Vocations” on Long Island – the Diocesan Fall Family Festival or “Family Fest”. Family Fest will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception, Huntington. There will be no cost associated with this event.
“The Family Fest will allow the lay faithful and our clergy to come together in prayer, fellowship and fun to reintroduce the conversation of what exactly a vocation is,” said Reverend Joseph Fitzgerald, Director of Vocations, Diocese of Rockville Centre.
The day is geared to the entire family with breakout sessions for adults, youth and children. There will be Eucharistic Adoration throughout the day, games and crafts for the kids and a keynote address by Father Fitzgerald. The day will conclude with a Vigil Mass celebrated by Bishop Murphy at 4:00 p.m.
