Bishop Murphy to Celebrate Mass and Closing of the Holy Door
at the Basilica of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary
Bishop William Murphy will be the principal celebrant and homilist for the Mass and closing of one of the four Holy Doors of Mercy in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, in the closing days of the Jubilee Year of Mercy called for by Pope Francis.
In accordance with the directives from the Vatican, all Holy Doors outside of Saint Peter’s, Rome, will close the prior to the Solemnity of Christ the King (November 20, 2016). Pope Francis will close the Jubilee Holy Doors at Saint Peter’s on November 20.
