Take Action: Urge Congress to Enact the Conscience Protection Act of 2017

Now is the time to contact your members of Congress and advocate for the protection of life and freedom of conscience. The Conscience Protection Act, (CPA), is much-needed, common-sense legislation which will clarify federal law and ensure that those who provide health care and health coverage can continue to do so without being forced by government to help destroy innocent unborn children. Please take a moment to let your representatives in Congress know that we expect them to protect our most cherished liberties.

The Conscience Protection Act of 2017 (H.R. 644) was introduced in the House of Representatives by Reps. Diane Black (R-TN) and Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) and in the Senate (S. 301) by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK).  A list of co-sponsors of the House and Senate bills can be seen here (H.R. 644) and here (S. 301). On July 19, The House Appropriations Committee approved the Fiscal Year 2018 Labor, HHS Appropriations bill which included the language of the CPA. The House may debate and vote on this in teh coming weeks. The Senate is also being urged to include the CPA in its Labor/HHS Appropriations bill.
